The African Host University of the PASET Regional Scholarship and Innovation Fund (RSIF) offers scholarship opportunities to Africans seeking to obtain a degree program in the fields of Applied Sciences, Engineering and Technology (ASET) at the institution listed below.

What is Sub-Saharan countries

Sub-Saharan Africa is, geographically, the area of ​​the African continent that lies south of the Sahara. According to the United Nations, it is made up of all African countries that are totally or partially located south of the Sahara. It contrasts with North Africa, whose territories are part of the League of Arab States within the Arab world. However, the Arab-speaking states of Somalia, Djibouti, Comoros and Mauritania are geographically located in sub-Saharan Africa, although they are also members of the Arab League.  The United Nations Development Program lists 46 of the 54 countries in Africa as “sub-Saharan”, excluding Algeria, Djibouti, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Somalia, Sudan and Tunisia.

  1. Applicants must have a master’s degree
  2. Applicants must demonstrate leadership potential, such as community service in areas related to PASET RSIF fields of study
  3. Applicants must be citizens of a sub-Saharan African country who wish to enroll full-time in a PhD program at an African RSIF host University
